ผมเป็นชาวแจ๊สที่กำลังมองหาแรงบันดาลใจใหม่ๆในดนตรี แล้ววันหนึ่งผมได้ไปดูเพลง Contemporary Music ของเพื่อนสาขาวิชาการประพันธ์ดนตรี ตอนที่ได้ดูผมก็รู้สึกว่ามันแปลกใหม่และน่าสนใจมาก เลยมานั่งคิดว่าจะเอาสิ่งเหล่านี้เข้ามาใส่ในเพลงแจ๊สยังไงให้ยังคงความเป็นแจ๊ส แต่ก็มีความเป็น Contemporary Music จนมีไอเดียหนึ่งผุดขึ้นมาในหัวว่าจริงๆแล้วในเพลงแจ๊สที่เป็น big band มันก็มีการใช้ Sound Effect หรือ Articulation ที่ขัด ๆ กับเพลงเหมือนเป็นอีกมิติหนึ่งลอยอยู่ ผมเลยคิดต่อว่าถ้าหากเรานำสองสิ่งนี้มารวมกันน่าจะทำให้เกิดดนตรีเเบบใหม่ที่น่าสนใจเเละมีคุณค่า
I am a jazz musician in pursuit of new sources of inspiration in the world of music. One day, I attended a contemporary music performance by a friend from the Music Composition Department. As I listened, I was captivated by how fresh and appealing it felt. This made me wonder how I might blend contemporary music with jazz without losing its soul. Then an came to me: in fact, big band jazz already employs sound effects and articulations that create tension with the flow of the music, almost like another dimension hovering above it. This leads me to think further—if these elements were combined with contemporary music, they might open the door to a new style of music, one both intriguing and meaningful.
