ความทรงจำเป็นสิ่งประหลาด ความทรงจำคือเครื่องมือเก็บรักษาอดีต แต่อดีตที่เราเก็บรักษาไว้ในความทรงจำก็ไม่มีทางชัดเจนเหมือนความเป็นจริง หากแต่เป็นชิ้นส่วนของรายละเอียดเล็ก ๆ ที่ประกอบเข้าด้วยกัน ชิ้นส่วนเหล่านั้นกระจัดกระจายและเปลี่ยนแปลงอยู่เสมอ บางครั้งจึงเกิดคำถามว่าเราสามารถเชื่อความทรงจำของตนเองได้มากเพียงใดในเพลงนี้ ผู้แต่งได้นำทำนองจากเพลงเก่าที่ได้เคยแต่งไว้ในปี พ.ศ. 2565 กลับมาใช้และนำเสนอให้เห็นว่าในแต่ละครั้งที่ผู้แต่งนึกถึงทำนองดังกล่าว มีอะไรหลงเหลืออยู่ในชิ้นส่วนของความทรงจำอายุ 1 ปีนี้บ้าง
As strange as it is, memory is the faculty of the mind that stores past events. However, the past events in our memory can never completely reflect what actually happened in the past, but are stored as a myriad of little fragments, scattered and ever-changing. We may at times harbour doubts over the extent to which we can trust our own memory. The piece of music is based on the composer’s own melody from another piece he composed in the previous year (2022). It manifests how each of those remaining one-year-old fragments looks like each time he recalls them from his memory.
