หลายครั้งผู้คนมักจะบอกว่า คนเรามักจะโตมาเหมือนคนที่เลี้ยงดูเรา หรืออาจจะเคยได้ยินคำว่า "ลูกไม้หล่นไม่ไกลต้น" ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ได้แรงบันดาลใจมาจากการตั้งคำถามถึงตัวตนและความสัมพันธ์ต่อผู้เลี้ยงดู ที่ทำให้ได้คำตอบว่า เราทุกคนนั้นล้วนได้รับอิทธิพลและการส่งต่อทั้งทางด้านกายและใจมาจากส่วนหนึ่งของผู้ที่เลี้ยงดูเสมอ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นในทางที่ดีหรือไม่ดี และในอนาคตเราก็จะส่งต่อบางส่วนของเรานั้นให้แก่ลูกหลานต่อไปเช่นกัน เหมือนการทำซ้ำส่งต่อรุ่นสู่รุ่นไปไม่รู้จบ
Many people say we grow up to become like those who raised us. Or as the old saying goes, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” This film was inspired by a question about identity and our relationship with those who raised us. It led to the realization that we all carry something passed down to us, both physically and emotionally, from our caregivers. Whether in positive or negative ways, that influence stays with us. And one day, we too will pass part of ourselves on to the next generation endlessly.
หลังการจากไปของพ่อ นรุตม์ได้พาลูกสาวเดินทางกลับมาบ้านเกิดของตนอีกครั้ง ต้นไม้ สิ่งของเก่า ภาพวาดที่เคยเห็นตั้งแต่เด็ก ทำให้ความรู้สึกของบาดแผลและความสัมพันธ์ต่อพ่อที่กลืนไม่เข้าคายไม่ออกได้หวนกลับมาหาเขาอีกครั้ง เมื่ออดีตเริ่มฉายซ้ำในปัจจุบัน นรุตม์จึงต้องเผชิญหน้ากับคำถามที่เขาไม่กล้าตอบมาตลอดชีวิต
After his father’s passing, Narut returns to his childhood home with his daughter. Surrounded by old trees, familiar objects, and paintings, long-buried memories and the unresolved wounds of his relationship with his father begin to resurface. As the past starts to echo in the present, Narut must confront a question he’s spent his whole life avoiding.
